The Adult Service Committee of the Stockton San Joaquin County Public Library presents "A Conversation with Sophoan Sorn" taking place June 11, 2009 in Ripon and July 14, 2009 in Stockton as part of the Library's Summer 2009 Reading Program and Artist Speaking Series "Create: Imagine the Possibilities."
Experience a fascinating and intimate conversation - along with surprises - with Sophoan Sorn, the Creator of the San Joaquin Film Society, a cutting-edge and highly-innovative cultural arts and media organization and home of the Valley's preeminent San Joaquin International Film Festival.Sophoan will: share stories of his upbringing as an immigrant from Cambodia, his personal and educational endeavors, his global outreach and community collaborations, and his artistic and business experiences in the creation of the year-round San Joaquin Film Society programs and the annual International Film Festival; and engage in an interactive Q&A.
