Kassim the Dream - Opening Night - February 5, 2009 7PM

About Cinema Room

The San Joaquin Film Society, in association with Cibo di Vino Restaurant and Matineé Movie Lounge, presented SJFS Cinema Room: a unique exhibition partnership to present film programs and special events at the Matineé Movie Lounge in Stockton's Miracle Mile district.

Within the intimate settings of the lounge, SJFS presented a richly-diverse collection of films, featuring: international, award-winning, ground-breaking and new narrative features, documentaries, and shorts.

Opening Night

SJFS Cinema Room kicked-off on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 7:00PM with the California Central Valley Premiere of the multiple award-winning "Kassim the Dream," from Executive Producer Forest Whitaker and Director Kief Davidson.

March - April 2009

From March to April, 2009, Cinema Room went on to host an African Film Series, along with Award-Winning Shorts from the 1st San Joaquin International Film Festival.

May 2009

In May 2009 during the 2nd San Joaquin International Film Festival, it hosted the dynamic A World of Shorts featuring over 100 short films from around the world; and a Master Class by world-renowned animator, Bill Plympton.
