The San Joaquin Film Society is honored to welcome multi-talented French writer, director and actor Cédric Prévost to the 2nd annual edition of French Cinema Days. Flying in from Paris to join us for the festival, Director Prévost will attend the International Premiere of his latest film "Hymen," which just held its World Premiere at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France last month.
His short film "Alter ego" screened as part of the New French Shorts program at the 1st French Cinema Day in August 2009 in Stockton.
He has directed seven short-length films: "Hymen" (2010), "Alter Ego" (2008), "Chimère" (2000), "Mal au Cœur" (2000), "Luna Park" (1999), "Méprise" (1999), "Eve" (1997). His films have screened at cinema festivals around the world, including Australia, Austria, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, Turkey, and the Americas. Production on a new short film will take place this summer, and there are plans for his first feature-length production beginning in 2011.
He has written two novels; "Trompe l’amour" in 2004 was published in France, Germany, Korea, Italy, and Russia; and "Sain et sauf."
Since 2000, he has been a drama professor at the Florent European Acting School in Paris.
Director Prévost's new film "Hymen" will hold its International Premiere at the 2nd French Cinema Days as part of the New French Short Films 2010 program, along with two of his older works. Director Prévost will be present: on March 27th at the 2PM Shorts program and the 7PM Spotlight program; and on March 28th at the 8:30PM Shorts program.
