WINNER OF OVER 30 AWARDS AROUND THE WORLD

DESCRIPTION

Helmut is celebrating his 60th birthday. He's actually only turning 57, but his wife Gertrud has got her maths wrong. While the facade of petit-bourgeois domesticity is gradually flaking, old friends come by and offer some well-meaning advice – a bizarre declaration of love to transience.

When it won both the Best Short Film Award and the Grand Prix at the 13th Tokyo Shorts Film Festival in June 2011, the jury emphasized in its statement: "This is a unique film that could only be produced in this format, for it would have been impossible to shoot it as a feature film. The film has a great deal of imagination, originality and new techniques."

"It's Me Helmut" has screened at over 80 festivals around the world, including some of the most prestigious, like Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand and Karlovy Vary.
